Falling skies

Kate Winston was a normal girl. But then again, the world isn't exactly normal now either. Not after an incident that would change her life, and many others'. All that matters now is surviving. At least, Kate's humanity was spared. She believes that there is still hope for this dying world, but not now. Maybe later. Kate changed her mind. She looked off into the distance, and the open road almost looked... Promising.
Kate and her sister will walk away from all they have ever known and loved. Walking forward, they left everything behind them. She'd forget. It was bound to happen.
