He was there. I could see him. I could feel him. But no one else did. I would like to think he was just a mirage -- an illusion, or a dream I couldn't seem to escape. He wasn't a nightmare either, but having him there was a beautiful one. He saved me, he protected me, he taught me, though he was no Superman. At first, I didn't know why he was there. I didn't know what he was doing with me. I didn't know why he was omnipresent. But as time passed, I understood why.

She wasn't supposed to matter. Not like this. Not enough to make me break my own rules. But the way she looked at me- Like I was the only safe thing in a world that never gave her one- Changed everything. This isn't a love story. It's survival. And maybe... It's something more. I wasn't looking to be saved. People like me don't get rescued. We survive. Quietly. Carefully. Alone. But then she looked at me like I wasn't broken- Like I was worth staying for. She doesn't know what I've done to make it this far. She doesn't know what I am. And if she ever finds out... Will she still stay?
