Sixteen-year-old Tally Woodhill has been locked away her entire life. Trapped by society's rules she's convinced that everything beyond the walls of the safe Institution she'd been imprisoned in since the Nuclear War, was dangerous. Everyone had told her to be frightened of the radiation, diseases, mutations and outlaws that loomed around the barren Earth that's left behind... but then she meets someone who changes everything she has ever known about the world and he turns the way she saw the world around her in a completely different way.

But can he be trusted?

Seventeen-year-old Zenith Kuenzli, a fugitive amongst what's left of a failing civilization has a dark past and a secret that will change the world. He knows about T.R.A.N.S.I.T, a top secret organization set to confront the Governments schemes to control everyone on Earth, and he is willing to make a deal with them - bring them a girl for their experiment and they'll tell him the secret he's been destined his entire life to fulfil.

Confused as to what's right and wrong, he takes Tally from the safety of her Institution and forces her to come with him to T.R.A.N.S.I.T. But then he starts to notice something awakening inside him the more he's around her and he realizes that he might not be able to complete his quest as he begins to fall dangerously in love with his captive.

In the world of unspoken truths, who can you trust when your heart longs for something that's forbidden.

Save the world, or save the girl.

In the beginning, there was death. The darkness flows from hues of purple and orange, the moon rising to kiss the sun's rays one last time as the darkest cloud of night I've ever seen falls over our tiny haven. I catch Will's face from the side of my vision and my heart tightens slightly. The tick of his jaw wouldn't be noticeable for anyone but me. His best friend, his lifeline. A solemn tear forms in my eye as he wipes his face, another tear falling for the family he lost. I love him. Utterly and desperately so, but, there's nothing I can do about that. The ultimate forbidden fruit, if you will. I reach to comfort him and he doesn't respond. I open my mouth to speak and he looks my way, but the gleam in his dark brown eyes hits the moonlight just right and I fall. My voice escapes my throat and I can't do it. I've tried for years to tell him. 10 years, actually. All this time, I hopelessly remained devoted to a ghost who had given the best of himself to a fiery red-head with a sassy personality and the body of a supermodel. For 10 years, I held to the desperate thought that maybe, just maybe, he'd be someone I could count on. Instead, I watched him marry my best friend, smiled as they welcomed their son. Stood, holding that beautiful boy as his mother was in the first round of executions after the beginning of the Revelation. Helped heal Will's wounds in the aftermath. Cried, clutching the tear-stained shirt of my best friend as his son took his last staggering breath in that first harsh winter. The guilt of my emotions crawl through me. My heart twisting in regret, guilt, desperation, and grief. I loved my best friend. She was so much more than that; she was my family. In this dystopian quick read, join a group of people desperate to recapture their freedom and end a tyrant's reign.

During the summer of 2014, a young boy named Kyle Straker and three other individuals were hypnotized during a local community talent show, and during the time they were under hypnosis, humanity got fully upgraded by a distant species. However, since Kyle and the other individuals were hypnotized, they didn't get effected by it, which resulted in them becoming obsolete. Fortunately, Kyle and his friends weren't the only 0.4's left out there. A rebellious eighteen-year-old named Trevor Tiorano decides to have a camp-out in the woods, against his parents' orders. Accompanying him are his best friend, Ethan Macknamara, and his girlfriend, Madeline Ervin. When humans got upgraded from 0.4 to 1.0, all three of them were unconscious, and greeted by a strange machine. Trevor is the first to wake up again. Upon regaining consciousness, he finds that he's a really old museum piece, and that he was in a mysterious sleep state for nearly a hundred years. Now, everything is completely different. People aren't people anymore, both physically and literally. Questions are swirling throughout Trevor's head. Why is he waking up now? Where did Maddie and Ethan go? Elodie's life changes at the turn of a doorknob when she is forced into joining a secret organization that claims to be protecting the Earth from aliens. But with every step she takes, she finds the organization, or the facility, as they call it, becoming more and more suspicious. When a mysterious death occurs, revealing a well-concealed secret, things quickly go downhill as humanity's future is placed on the shoulders of a single gaggle of teenagers. *** I hear a sigh from the other side of the door, "Miss. Chaucer, you have a wonderful opportunity here, are you going to take it or not?" Now, I am seriously confused, "Opportunity?" She takes advantage of my befuddled state and shoves the door open. Shit. The corners of her mouth pull up, and it's so unnatural, it takes me a moment to realize she's smiling. Major plastic surgery? Probably. Click. Did she just lock the door? She locked the door! I spring towards the house phone, dusty from years of doing absolutely nothing, so I can call the police. I don't make it. Halfway there, I trip on my own pant-leg and face plant on the floor. The woman steps over me and retrieves the phone. She looks at it as if it's a foreign object, "This won't be necessary. All I want to do is talk to you." For some reason, instead of screaming, I stay silent. She smiles and pulls out a chair from the kitchen table for me to sit on. When I don't sit, she says, "If you want to know what's going on, then sit." I think about it for a moment. She hasn't hurt me yet, and I have to admit, I am quite curious as to what's going on. So, call me stupid, but I sit down. "I am from a space organization that protects civilians from . . . outside threats." *** Beautiful cover made by @mahana258!
