disclaimer: i have not been diagnosed with any of these conditions so i don't have first hand experience. if anything i say that is offensive or inaccurate please please please tell me! don't be afraid:)

this was based off a post by sorryimessedupagain on tumblr that i found on twitter. i thought that the idea of stereotypes on people with mental illnesses were something that needed to be lifted and writing is the only way i feel comfortable.

also i am not trying to romanticise the idea of mental illness. of course there are couples and relationships in the fiction but try and focus as the characters as a person.

What's this story about? ╰┈➤ [Zayn centered + ZOUIS ship] Zayn Malik was a mess. Everyone thought he was psycho, crazy, insane. Among other struggling souls, including an empathetic counselor and three patients grappling with their own battles. But whilst he was in the ward, he discovered something. The ward wasn't what it seemed, it was corrupted and dangerous. He knew he needed to get out. And to make matters worse, he did the stupidest thing any mentally ill person can do. He fell in love. Character roles? ╰┈➤ Liam Payne is a dedicated worker and counselor at the facility, striving to make a difference while carrying unseen burdens of his own. Harry Styles battles anorexia, struggles in his search for control. Louis Tomlinson is haunted by self-harm and suicidal ideations, masking his pain behind his familiar defiance. Niall Horan lives with psychological fantasia and anxiety, often caught between reality and the vivid stories his mind weaves. At the heart of it all is Zayn Malik, whose antisocial personality disorder and substance use disorder paint him as distant, dangerous and unpredictable. TWS? ╰┈➤ themes of self-harm, suicidal ideation, eating disorders, substance use, psychological trauma, heavy language, violence, and sensitive mental health depictions. Moments of comfort, friendship, and romance will be present, but the story will not shy away from the darker aspects of their struggles. ╰┈➤ Last but definately not least, rest in peace, Liam Payne. 🕊️

He turned to walk out again and he opened the door. I rushed to him and reached for his arm. "Harry don't go please." I had never stopped him from leaving before. This time my heart wouldn't let me let him go. "You said you cared and you missed me too." I spoke in a low voice and used his own words against him. A low thing to do but I needed him to understand how much I was hurting. Note: this is a story of pure fiction. If Harry and Louis are not be together in real life then, we as a fandom, have created a beautiful and tragic love story! I hope you enjoy my work. I put my heart in it. However, life is so unexpected and before I knew it, I had a brain tumor, was stripped of my old life and given a new one. A life without my best friend, Niall Horan. I left the X Factor, where I had made it up to bootcamp, but it didn't matter. My dreams were crushed, there was no hope. I never did tell Niall, about my brain tumor and just cut contact with him. He didn't need to worry about me. What I didn't realize is that Faith also comes into play and well Faith does whatever the hell it wants. So next thing I know, here I am, reunited with my best friend. My brain tumor is gone, and I have my best friend back. It's times like these where I realize it's just a little too good to be true. And it is. Slowly, without even meaning to, I start falling for the boy who was none other then my best friend. Everyone knows falling in love with someone you simply cannot have is a nightmare, and I feel as though this nightmare will just never end.

What if they realize it's impossible to get over each other, no matter how toxic the relationship was?

I wrote this when I was like 15 so it's awful and horribly inaccurate regarding lots of stuff and the characters are really, really annoying. If it didn't have so many reads and votes and that I would delete it. PLEASE, if you want something with better writing and still full of angst, look at my other fics instead (Tempest is my fav) // Harry is upset, he just wants someone to care about him but he keeps pushing everyone away. Despite being packed tightly in a tour bus with the rest of the band, he still manages to avoid them. The boys begin to worry, Louis especially. // PSSST, i think my other stories are better! Louis feels like a lost cause. But, then, Louis meets the OuTkAsTs, a fun group of kids with similar problems. He feels like now he has a place he can not only eat, but befriend people. First, there's Zayn Malik, who has bipolar disorder. Then Liam Payne, who has obsessive compulsive disorder. Niall Horan has hemophilia and can't participate in certain school activities, due to his mother's worries.
