"The Guitar--the percussion of a drum, utility of a piano and the melody of a cello..."

Bluezey Morales is going through a "quarter life crisis"--its sort of like a mid-life crisis, but only when you're twenty-five years old...anyway...she sells the small boutique she owns in West Bloomfield, Michigan and heads down south to Nashville, where she re-connects with the estranged, quirky-country side of her family that her uptight mother hates. She enrolls in Vanderbilt University hoping to "make something worthy of herself". With the help of her Aunt Mildred, she picks up playing guitar again, something she gave up after high school, and discovers a new found love. At university, she meets Carrie Bloomington, Astrid Olas and Olivia "Ollie" Smithton and they all start a band called Vena Sera, after Bluezey's favorite album. After several gigs and some collaboration with other Nashville artists, Vena Sera gains a small following and become noticed by major record labels, and Third Man's Kyle Shaw who introduces them to Jack White, who happens to know Bluezey's Aunt. Jack and Bluezey develop a romantic relationship, much to the chagrin of many of the people with vested interest in Jack. The entire affair turns tumultuous, upsetting the company, Vena Sera as a band, and Bluezey's and Jack's relationship. Trust issues, jealousy, and ultimately hatred ensues, making great content for Bluezey's songs which become hits, but also putting her into extreme emotional distress. Recognizing that her emotional well being is at stake, Bluezey has to make the toughest decision of her life. Should she stay or should she go....
