Death and destruction are nothing short of common for Laine Fraser, and if there's one thing she knows, it's that demon hunting runs in her blood. She was raised as a Guardian and forged into the perfect weapon with a sole purpose in mind -- exterminate the creatures of the underworld.

Burdened with the expectations of her family and the legacy of her ancestors, Laine became tired of the constant loss and never-ending battle against the spawn of Hell. When the opportunity to leave it all behind presented itself, she put her guns in the ground and reinvented herself as a new woman, but the past refused to release its claws from her.

With a dangerous penchant for stirring up trouble and two attempts on her life under her belt, Laine finds herself thrust back into the flames with a target on her back and demons hot on her tail. They thirst for her blood and will stop at nothing to get what they want. Assisted by people from the past and few unlikely allies, Laine will once again have to fight for her life in a world she swore she had left behind.
