Between Two Lungs

Robert Russell is your typical 38 year old man possibly going through what might be deemed a typical midlife crisis. Only, it's not a 'typical' crisis at all, it's a travesty, if nothing else. His friends can try their best to understand while his wife sits awake all night, hunched at the table too afraid to close those bloodshot eyes. The children, they bore from the ridiculously young age of sixteen, remain a few years off from full maturity with their own problems of school, work and boyfriends. Not to mention Rob's income is continuously dwindling somewhat between the 'poverty line' and 'below average'. So when the time comes, can the people he depends on really pull it together?, when priority is needed, who will actually put him first?. After all, he is just Robert Russell.
