Ever since  I was a little kid I'd always been scared of looking in mirrors when it was dark or if I was alone, I'd always thought that when I looked up I'd see something other than my familliar, comforting reflection. But now I realise that it wasn't the monsters of my imagination that I should have been fearing, what really should have scared me was the thing that I thought was my protection.

I saw this WP on Reddit, and I had a lightbulb moment. Since the age of 14, you've noticed a monster stalking you. A few years later, you've noticed it seems very protective over you and will go through extreme measures to protect you.
