Eliza Hartwell was tired of running. It had been five hundred years, and she decided it was time to migrate to Mystic Falls where she found that Katherine Pierce (her former friend) would be.
But after realizing that she was walking right into Klaus' proximity, she tried to run for the hills again. She was trapped, and the only way to escape was, well, there wasn't an escape this time.
Looks like vampires will always have bad luck, even if it lasts Five Lifetimes.
