(A Twilight fanfic that picks up in New Moon after Bella and Jacob have gone to the movies and everyone is getting sick.) Edward left me. Jacob wanted to be with me, but things were changing for him. Hiding what was going on inside me wasn't working. I had to make an effort to go on with my life, not just for my parents or for easily distracted boys, but for myself. I wanted to be able to answer truthfully that I tried. If I ever saw Edward again, I didn't want to be that same girl he left. I wanted to be better and stronger.
