Prologue "Jessie...Jessie...Jessie, help me!'' I awoke startled. "It was just a dream...just a dream..." I kept repeating that to myself, barely above a whisper. I got up, washed my face in the bathroom then headed to the kitchen for a beer. Sprawling out on the couch, I switched on the TV, adjusted the volume, careful not to wake Emily and started flipping through random channels, not really watching anything...just staring. It's been three years since she died. My mother still blames me. I haven't spoken to her since the funeral. Memories came flooding back so fast. I felt like I was drowning, couldn't breathe. Tears started trickling down my cheeks. I took a deep breath and held it till I calmed myself and the tears stopped. I exhaled and opened my eyes, scanning the room. Glancing down to check the time on my watch, it was after three in the morning. Just a few hours before i have to leave for work. Sighing, I switched off the TV then went back to my room, plugged in my headphone.
