The winged and nonwinged people of Avian Central have always had their little feuds throughout the entire existence of the floating city, but when the president, Cornelius Leonardo, is almost assassinated, the rebellion of the nonwinged has breached the public eye. And President Leonardo's old pal gone-loco, Davis Macintosh, has been released from prison.

Audrey Michelle Cross is one of the winged citizens of Avian Central. Known for her cunning velocity and thin frame, going fast is her game. She has her two best friends and her coach (occasionally) loves her. But when all she knows comes crumbling down into ashes before her. Then she meets a mysterious girl that's been hidden away for 14 years, who looks just like her, and has the wingspan of two trucks.
