I could feel a cold, icy gaze barrel straight through my soul. Actual crystal shapes frosted white marked the edges of the creature's vision. A long, thin tail with a thin frost layer gently wrapped around me. Normally I would've run, escape through the trees to the best of my abilities. But I couldn't. The icy blue gaze was hypnotizing. The dragon gently puffed frost in my face. Small, gleaming white teeth caught the snow. No matter how brilliant this dragon looked, however, I couldn't fight back the only other thought that was running through my head. I was gonna die. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kiara has lived on her own for as long as she can remember. But when she finds her fate caught with the Dragon Riders, secrets are uncovered about her identity, and she has to choose between fighting her father...or facing the only friends she'd ever known in battle. Secrets, betrayal, and lies, all circling Kiara's life as she struggles to fit in with the Riders, and find where her fate truly stands. OLD: While I'm very proud for this being my first completed major project, it's still old as hell, several things make 0 sense and there's a lot of random convoluted stuff and little consistency, especially in characters. This was something I wrote to escape when I was down and often sleep-deprived so I just wrote what I felt like in the moment. THIS ALSO APPLIES TO ITS SEQUELS. If that isn't your thing, I wouldn't recommend this.

The moment she noticed her handler forgot to lock the door behind him, she wasted no time making a run for it. There's only one problem though. She had no clue where she was. Surrounded by endless trees she was stripped of having any sense of direction but that didn't stop her motives. The girl began her journey and ran for what felt like hours, stumbling upon a small abandoned home camouflaged deep in the woods. No second thoughts, she took shelter. Soon it's discovered that the home was indeed not abandoned but already claimed by someone. Bare with me for this is just a school project made by myself back in 2018 and as far as I can remember I didn't have enough time to refurnish my story because of the deadline. Also this story is a short reference of the books that I've read and movies that I've watched that really sparks my interests in writing stories. This story is about a family's struggle, misunderstanding and separation. There's no perfect family rich or poor. It's a little bit close to my experience but most of are just full fiction. "Lost Friends To Lovers" Dad told me real love happens once and when it does, never hide your feelings. Too bad, he told me late. I held them and lost her. Until I found her again. Blue-eyed, brown hair. That dimple on the right cheek, it hasn't changed much. Well, she hasn't changed much either. I can feel her body exuding the same warmth as the old times, her innocence still shining bright like it used to. This little surprise is racing my heart even when she is far from me...wait? Far? With her eyes busy finding something in her handbag, she is coming toward me. Me. Is my back erecting? What is she doing here? In a school? Is she my son's teacher? I find myself curious now. A dirty window before her, the grim obstructing her vision, she has lived with a loss she can't identify - that is until one rainy night. Gradually the spots of dirt May scratched at for so long wipe away with the touch of a finger. But when she looks in will she like what she sees - or will curiosity kill the cat?

She....I....... I was running through the thick branches, pushing the leaves out of my way with all my might. I had to get away. The wet, brown, ground made it easier for me to slip and let her red, chilling hands slip around my innocent, scarred body, not knowing where she would take me next. I was almost out of breath, but I had to keep running if I wanted to make it out of this forest alive. My red dress was getting torn to shreds, and my hands and feet had mud all over them. My long, bushy brown hair was getting hooked on every possible branch, making me push my hair in the back of my dress, just like I used to when I was forced to cook everyday for my loathsome 'parents'. Returning back to the real world, I had to stop otherwise I would black out. I took a few seconds to catch my breath silently, and to look around to see if she was there behind me. I was looking up at the tall, old tree when I heard a twig snap behind me. Just like in the horror films. I turned and ran in the same direction, not daring to look back and see her wretched face fixed on my body. I sprinted and sprinted, but slowed down when I saw I was heading to nowhere but a ragged cliff. The unknown would me known if I continued to run and jump. I stopped two metres away from the cliff and looked down to see a valley so far down. If I jump..... I die. If I let her take me..... the unfair horribleness awaits me. I had no choice. I jumped.
