Mara was a happy young mermaid, living with her parents under the water, but the world took it all away from her, and fed her parents to a nasty pair of sharks. She was forced to live with her vengeful aunt at the age of five, and to live the life she never wanted, with legs. When everything seemed to be getting worse, a figure rises from the darkness to help her with her afflictions, a boy with the name of Harris Tanner. Not only that, but clues start to appear in Mara's life, and leave her to ponder whether her parents were a meal, or if they died of other means.
