Scarlett Parker has went through a lot in over a year. The second anniversary is coming soon and everything has not been working out for her. Soon it is going to be two years, and she still wasn't over it. Everything was going south. Her mom is still getting hurt. Kids are laughing at her. And she transferred to a new school, where she ignores everyone and has no one to call her friend. One day, everything just floods over and she decides to leave the world forever. On a bridge, she meets him: Samuel Carter. Or Sam as everyone calls him. The captain of the football team at her new school. And he is nothing like she thought he was. He's nice, extremely nice to her. He starts to treat her in a different way that confuses her. Sam doesn't like the sad look that's always fixated on Scarlett's face. He wants to make her happy and actually smile instead of giving him that fake one she constructs behind her wall. Will Sam get his smile and break down Scarlett's walls?

"Damn it, Mason, you can't fix me. I'm not some used car that needs an oil change." I'm standing at the edge of my driveway. If I take one step towards that house, then I go back to my life. The life I've had since Mason left. Since he abandoned me. If I turn around. If I take one second to look into his eyes. I don't think I'll be able to resist throwing myself in his arms. "I'm shattered, Mason. Like a dusty vase that's been ignored for too long." "You know the best thing about broken vases, Mel? You just need three things to make them whole." I decide to go along with his speech. "Faith, trust, and pixie dust?" I muse. "Tape, glue, and someone willing to fix it. And I'm right here, Mel."
