The world as we know it has forever been changed.
The demons who had been in hiding have been released from their former prison and have nearly destroyed the world. There are few humans left alive, and those who are cower away in hiding.
Ebony is one of those humans; however, she is not afraid to fight the demons. She can't remember a time when humans could live without fear and demons were merely myths.
Demons aren't the only creatures to come out of hiding. People with enhanced strength, speed, and can shift into certain animals also exist.

For many of the I and E generation in the Americas and parts of Europe, it was something to avoid being taken by them to their world. But many knew the stories they told, the things they saw and missed, and in this world of social media, the child coming home, reborn as a shifter. For 16-year-old Nathan that was his reality.
