He walks past me and I, once again, follow behind him. I watch as he puts on his jacket and heads for the door. He unlocks it and opens it.
"Michael." I call to him. "I'm sorry."
He looks back at me and I see hurt, sadness, and anger. "Yeah, me too. Have a nice life, Giselle."
With that, he walks out the door, slamming it behind him.
Cast of Characters:
Giselle Watkins - 20, has a boyfriend, bartender, feisty, sometimes sweet. Trying to rack up enough money to own her own bar one day.
Michael Jackson - 30, single, entrepreneur, stern, cocky. Wants to take his businesses on a global scale.
Scott Davis - 22, Giselle's boyfriend, unemployed.
Jaslene Cooper/ Candy - 20, single, stripper, Giselle's friend, feisty, hothead. Wants to stop stripping to go into high fashion modeling.
David Johnson - 30, single, owner of the strip club Jaslene and Giselle work at, Michael's friend, controlling.
Joseph wasn't satisfied about my sacrifice in the Jackson 5. He said I'd gotten cocky and sloppy. Me? I was the lead singer, the star, goddamn it! How could he say something like that. I'd busted my ass off my entire life, and this is what I get? 'A trip' to Barrow, Alaska, to get my mind straight, as he so firmly called it. I knew his temper, though, so there wasn't really any other option than to accept his decision. He'd beat me senseless if I objected. So, whether I liked it or not, he put me on the plane, and that's that.
