"So people say." The stranger said as he caught me, not missing a beat "I'm going to call a taxi, tell him your address and here's my number. Call me so I can pay for the fee."
The taxi driver pulled up and waited while the stranger helps me in the car. He goes to the front after I was situated and then tells the driver something. He looks a back at me and nods his head. Once the convo was over the stranger patted the car and we were off.

I walked on the nearly empty bus in New York City, which was very rare. It was the middle of the night and this was the last train going around the tracks. It was only me in the car for a few stops.
