Into The Unknown
After a catastrophic war and a deadly virus that plagued the world, humanity is left divided, hunting each other down and murdering for vengeance... Or purely for fun. With humanity on the brink of extinction, and another war on the rise, a survivor is revived, given a chance to maybe, just maybe, save the world. ...And all she can remember is her name. ______________________________________ There is a name for those who mutated to survive the virus. I'm not talking about the immune, who can flush the disease straight from their system. I'm talking about The Freaks. If you listen to the rumours, after the Deathwave they started appearing from the wastes, people with no soul or conscience, although once human they now could be described as monsters. You'd think I'd agree, seeing as I ran away from them. But from where I stand, it's Humans who are the monsters.Kumpleto
The Infected Mind
[Book 1] Crawlers: once normal people like you or me. They had hobbies, families, friends, interests, but now they are feral monsters. The infection spread, wiping out almost half the human race, and leaving the rest as either Crawlers or Survivors. The infected's eyes will black out, before giant, black, bug-like legs will rip out of their back, giving them a newfound speed and agility, as well as an insatiable bloodlust. Body fluids entering any open wound, including the eyes, mouth, and nose, will seal the person's fate; they are now infected. It won't be long before they start screeching at the moon in a mock howl. The problem is, I am infected. I turned but retained most of my humanity. With my new lifestyle in a new world, I can't expect anything or anyone to act as I predict. My biggest question is, can I save my humanity? Or will I simply become part of the mindless feral swarm?Kumpleto
