I looked at him while he was smiling at the river. He always had a way with nature. I could only wish to become like him. He noticed me looking and slipped his hand in mine. I smiled and decided to forgive him. Kissing my hand gently, he snatched me in a hug. He held me so tight; I could feel his promise in it.
We stayed like that for a few minutes until I felt him tense up.
"Don't move," he warned. "Until I say so."
I felt something staring at my back, I knew it was an animal.
