What happens when parallel universes collide? When a portal opens up in the middle of the city, it unleashes a reign of terror unlike anything that anyone has ever known. With the world's military forces unable to contain the problem, the world is plunged into darkness with Chicago as ground zero.
Over the course of two years, the human race has been driven underground and live in constant fear. Resources are scarce and time is running out for the planet. Among those people, Damien, who, because of the invasion, was orphaned at eighteen years old and forced to learn to fight to survive. Together, with his friend, Christian, he stumbles upon a group of people who have dedicated their lives to fighting the invading forces.
After a close encounter with the Nightstalkers, a race of reptilian-like creatures, Damien's world is, once again, turned upside-down as strange things start to happen to him. Soon, he comes to realize that he is more connected to this threat than he could have ever imagined. And when the true threat reveals himself and his power, it becomes clear that the fate of the entire planet could be decided in an instant.
Can he be stopped in time or will the world remain in an eternal darkness???

He and his older sister lived together, sticking to the dark alleys of their abandoned city, and survived for years after the apocalypse, until the Destroyers came and took her away, reigning terror on the few who remained in the city. The boy, desperate to find someone to help him save his sister, leaves the city and finds one of the youngest cooperative packs in North America, called the Raiders, comprised of unwanted individuals with the strange powers left from the destruction of years past. Their leader, a destructive insomniac, promises to help him in return for the skills and usefulness this young boy seems to possess, but something disrupting sends waves of unease through the Raiders, something about a forgotten past and talk of a mutiny. Soon Mia discovers that peace isn't as easy as it seems, and while Earthe may be beautiful, there are dark parts that are creeping back to the light. Even in a world of perfect beings such as elves, lies can be spun as precisely as an arrow can pierce a target, and evil can sneak up on you when you least expect it. Mia is used to reading about this kind of stuff, not living it. Safe to say she finds herself in one hell of an adventure. - - TW: if you need a tw for fighting, violence, weapons, blood, death, etc. I would read with caution (I don't get into any gory details, but there are scenes w/ this) I will put tw's for the more violent scenes.Complete
