The Hunter Clans have always hunted the Elementals. Casters, they call them. Magic users. Their power is unnatural and the Hunters have vowed to stamp out their very existence. The Hunters were granted strength, longevity, and the ability to track anything in the world by the Founder, the creator of life on Earth. The Founder's will shall be done.
Jennavieve Venator is the youngest, and most gifted Hunter the clans have ever known. Trained by her late, legendary father, Jennavieve has mighty shoes to fill. On her first hunt she encounters a Caster, only a few years younger than her. Before she delivers a killing blow, she notices the amulet that adorns the Caster's neck. It is an amulet of rare quality and substance. Jennavieve should know, she is wearing one exactly like it. An amulet given to her by her mother before she died, many years ago when Jennavieve was only a child.
Desperate for answers, Jennavieve does not kill the Caster known as Lilyana Supernus, and goes on the run with her. Lilyana has answers to Jennavieve's past, a past she does not fully remember, and possibly the answers of who killed her father.
The Hunter becomes the hunted.
