“I hate you.”

“No you don’t.” He replied smoothly. He stood there staring at me and it was times like this I begged for Edward Cullen’s mind reading gift. He was leaning on the old desk in the middle of the classroom, ignoring the groans of protest coming from the crappy piece of furniture. “There are a lot of things you do, but hating me isn’t one of them.”

“And what makes you so sure of that?”

He let out a helpless sigh and ran a hand roughly down his face. He stood up and relieved the desk of the extra and unwanted weight of his muscled but lean body. He looked at me and the expression on his face made me almost feel sorry for him. Almost. “A, I’m sorry.”

“No, Mason, don’t call me that.” My eyes were locked shut in fear of him seeing how watery they were. “I’m Anna to you. Just Anna.”
