Instead of Jason Todd being the one to have been killed by the Joker, it was Dick Grayson. Dick is of course resurrected by Ra's Al Ghul, and the effects of the Lazarus Pit permanently does some damage to his sanity. When Dick finally gets a grip on himself and finds a way to return to Gotham, how will he react when it seems as though his loved ones completely replaced him?

This story is lightly based on "Under the Red Hood," but only features a couple of scenes from the movie. Also, this is held in the Young Justice universe.

The Fallen Hero (Dick Grayson)

4 parts Ongoing Mature

When he was young he was the ward of Bruce Wayne and talk of the tabloids. As a member of Young Justice, in a mission gone wrong he almost lost his best friend to none other than Deathstroke the Terminator. Grief and guilt swallowed him whole, and that's when it all went wrong. He went after the mercenary, and was killed by a quick slash across his neck. However, his death wasn't the end, because that would be too easy. Dick Grayson--brought back by the Lazarus Pit--whose now dead to the world is useful to the mercenary as his student, successor, and pawn. After years of being a toy to the contract killer Dick escaped and ran from himself and everything he's ever known. He now goes by Grayson Lloyd, but mostly referred to as Gray. He took his mothers maiden name, and returned to Gotham, but not as a hero, as something the city would come to dispute about. Vigilante. Killer. Hero. Murderer. Mercenary. He's everything in between: the gray area if you will. To the crude city he's known as 'The Gotham Reaper'. The Batfamily of course have something to say about this new vigilante. This is Batman's city after all.
