Meet Serena Grey and Shaunee Levesque, two sixteen years olds, dealing with love, life, and everything that comes with it.
Serena Grey, the good looking, popular girl that everyone knows and secretly envies. But, dont judge a book by its cover, right? Serena isnt the stereotypical mean-girl, infact shes the opposite. She reaches out to anyone in need of help or just a shoulder to cry on and she sympathizes with the underdog.
Shaunee Levesque, Serena's best friend, confident in herself but constantly confused about her desires. Unsure if anyone else would love her for who she is, see past the quiet and strange exterior to the raging, passionate and far-from-quiet person that she is. And as she falls for the type of person she usually prides herself on not falling for, her life changes radically.

With innumerous heartbreaks, sadness, love, hatred, gossip…Serena basically lives a lifetime, in the span of one year.
Shaunee finds love, in Serena's neighbor Ethan who affects her life in more than one way
To top it all off, Serena falls for with someone who no one saw coming...not even Serena herself.

In a town as small as Granville, the news of her disease spread like wild fire before the doctor even announced to her family. People of Granville can be sympathetic, however, they have the ability to avoid Genevieve like a plague, as if her illness is contagious. That is until she meets the shining beacon for the recklessly chaotic, Gray Easton. Who says you can only find love in a coffee shop? There's one thing they have in common - almost. Gray can't feel. He claims he has a paper heart but perhaps, words have emotion and if she were to write on his paper heart, he would feel something.
