" Hey, my name is Wes Thompson," She kept looking down. I got upset and went to turn around, when he felt someone grab his arm. "My name is Cora Walker," said a soft voice, I turned around quickly. My eyes widened when I saw her. It was easy to tell she was country, I thought "So, I can tell that you are country also," Cora said. I looked down at my Ford t-shirt,blue jeans, and Rocky boots, and said," Yes I am country." She giggled and we smiled at each other. Her teeth are so straight, white, and pretty, I thought. I said, " How about we tell each other about ourselves, is that ok with you?" Cora nodded. Then the bell rang for class, " Sit by me at lunch, and we can talk then. I will see you at lunch, " I said. Cora smiled then walked to class alone. I stood in the hallway for a few minutes thinking about Cora, then walked to class smiling.

When I slammed my locker shut and turned to see Toby standing there, watching me, I jumped in fright and dropped my bag. Talk about speaking of the devil. All my sticky notes and reminders were in there. He smiled and waved it off before turning to leave. When I got home, Maria gave me a phone call, squealing like a child. "Toby invited me to his birthday party this Saturday!". I pulled the phone away from my ears to protect myself from the extra scream that came after that. "He said you could come too". "No thanks, I've got to study". "Tests are ending tomorrow". "Uh college..". "...isn't until the end of the year? Dude, why are you being so ....not fun?". "Dude," I said, getting up to pace.
