Ava Shaw and boyfriend Kol Reynolds, running on a football scholarship at 6'7 and two hundred pounds who can't only defend but also run, were on a simple date around town. Only it wasn't an average night. Kol gets attacked by some animal roaming in the allies, attacking at an unexpected time. He's only left with a bite mark to the neck and some broken bones leaving physically okay, unfortunately for Ava, she doesn't leave the scene mentally okay. Her grandmother had warned her of this, even told her not to go out that night. So with a hurt lover and crazy grandmother saying stuff about old legends and wolf men. Ava knew that night wasn't an accident, and now Kol and herself have to deal with it, with the full moon approaching quickly also and Kol eyes changing from baby blue to yellow. It's only a matter of time before everything falls apart.

"It's okay little one," he said as came closer to me. I felt so tiny in his presence, especially in wolf form. He knelt down and tried to move closer but I whimpered and backed up more into the tree. He sighed again before trying again and I tired to put all my fears away as he once again reached out his hand. I put my head down, hoping that if I couldn't see him, I wouldn't be scared. As I felt his hand on my back and felt tingles explode, I jumped but then relaxed as I got used to it. I was almost to the door when I remembered the leather jacket I brought. I turned back to the room and just as I entered the most wonderful smell hit my nose. This is the story of Alpha Carson and his mate Katie. It is backstory for Alpha Aaron's parents as requested by one of my readers.
