"What if I'm not good enough?" I asked my brother innocently. "Not good enough???" He repeated sounding astonished, "No such thing Kendall, those Juilliard people will have to take you, and if they don't, it's their loss," he told me with a kind, humorous smile in his eyes. "You really think so?" I questioned hopefully. His opinion meant everything to me. "Positive," he immediately replied. "Reach for the stars, sis. And if you don't make it, I'll be there to catch you." *** 17 year old Kendall Harlow has dreamed about getting accepted to the prestigious Juilliard School for the past 6 years. Although she's extremely talented, she doesn't have much in life; her father left her mother and ran off with his girlfriend when she was 3, her mother is struggling to hold a part time job as a waitress and unsuccessful author, and her loving older brother has been stuck in a coma ever since she was 12. The only thing Kendall can depend on now is her violin that was passed down to her from her grandfather. Music is what she uses as an outlet to escape from the struggles of her difficult life. Can Kendall somehow navigate her life so her family issues don't get in the way of achieving her dreams? Or will she have to forfeit everything she's worked for to support her dysfunctional family?

A teen from a racing family must choose between family obligations and the singing career he longs for. *** Mason's parents had a dream. They wanted their sons to race, and as car mechanics, they had spared no expense to ensure their sons were trained to the best of their ability. It was a family dream, and on the side, Mason would sing. After his brother, Haneul passed away, and the future became bleak, Mason had accepted that the only way to seek the light would be to make his parent's dream come true. Giving up his singing was an easy compromise to make; following it through, however, was a much more arduous task. The time he once spared for making Youtube videos and gigging at local pubs was long gone, but he still maintained his secret; he still sang for himself. With first love blooming and friends preparing for their futures, it soon dawns on Mason just how much he is giving up to keep his parents happy. Maybe his parents are asking too much. But when he is forced to return home each day and see his mother become a shell of the person who had raised him, he is reminded of the reasons why he had agreed to carry out his promise. He'll have wasted so much time and effort if he changes his mind now. But when does Mason get to choose his own happiness?
