Persistently underestimated because of her impaired vision, Ice-an emissary of good-has spent her existence championing worthy causes. For millennia, she has used her powers and cunning to protect those who have been made vulnerable by both their high positions and extraordinary abilities. Her latest mission has brought her to New York City where, for the past seventeen years, she's aided in the protection of Caitlin Saldaña , the greatest world power she's seen since... well... herself.

To high school senior, Caity Saldaña, heightened physical abilities and the capacity to turn into a tiger have become the norm. As is her twin sister, Ice's ability to heal and sense and categorize energy and her distant cousin and guardian, Catalina's being a witch. What is not normal, however, is the day a demon takes possession of Caity's body. In the life-altering events that follow-where demons are "reasonable" and good guys deceitful-bonds are tested and the lines between good and evil are forever blurred in Caity's mind.
