With his troubled past never far from his mind, the once-handsome Smith heads out to lose himself in the anonymity offered by the American West. When he arrives in Gabriel's Settlement, Texas though, he succumbs to the lifestyle of quick money and adventuresome living offered by a gang of wily bank robbers. It isn't until he crosses paths with Johanna Johannsen and her daughter Sadie that Smith discovers he isn't the only person in Texas with a looming past, and some people's devils are much closer to home than his own. When he learns of the Dalton Gang's plans to stick up the bank in Gabriel's Settlement, Smith must make a choice. But is he strong enough to face his past and be the man his own father couldn't be?

Prairie Run explores what can happen when a human being becomes so obsessive over a single object they lose sight of what truly matters in life. During the Depression in 1934 South Dakota a man down on his luck, Charlie Lamport, commits a minor crime that causes the man who pressed charges against Charlie, Hans Gossard, to do everything possible to make sure that Charlie spends time in prison. Hans requisitions the local county sheriff, Sheriff Bill Tyler, to escort Charlie to prison. On their way to prison a bank is robbed by a murderous bank robber, whom Sheriff Tyler rightly sees as the greater threat. Meanwhile, Hans is still obsessed with sending Charlie to prison and he wants Sheriff Tyler and every available law enforcement personnel to focus on capturing Charlie. The story becomes a race to see who will be stopped first-a murderous bank robber or an innocent man. Read Prairie Run to find out what happens!
