His hand ghosts over hers that she rested on her side before overlapping her skin. The colors come to her in short, frantic bursts, making the city lights blindly bright. They were so much prettier than what she imagined; the colors twinkled in neon signs, all different shades she couldn't describe.
She closes her eyes, so all she could see is black again.
"The lights are beautiful," Calum mumbles in awe.
"They'll never last."

I hold a hand to my face, taking a deep breath. "That's fine, I'll get some later. I just don't understand how you were able to chase away the dark."
