This is a story I wrote after I read the news about the refugee crisis Europe has been dealing with. "What is at stake is nothing less than the survival and well-being of a generation of innocents" -Antonio Guterres, UNHCR This story is about the journey refugees are being forced to take. I wrote this story after a lot of days of research and I can assure you that the political situation I describe as well as the paths taken by the refugees (and the time it takes to get from one place to another) are true. You must have in mind that we live in a very crazy world, and political positions (specially when they are related to war and economy) can change very fast. This story was written on October 10th, 2015. -If you don't know much about what is going on in Europe and about the refugee crisis I am talking about, read this little summary (that I wrote based on a BBC's article): Europe has been recently dealing with a migration crisis, asylum applications in Europe have surged this year. The numbers for Germany and Hungary already exceed their 2014 totals. By the end of July, 438,000 refugees had applied for asylum. Last year’s number was 571,000. According to the UNHCR, Germany is the most popular destination for migrants arriving in Europe; it has received the highest number of applications, more than 188,00 by the end of July 2015. (15,416 more than in the whole of 2014.) The IOM estimates that more than 350,000 migrants were detected at the EU’s borders between January and August 2015. The biggest driver of this migration has been the conflict in Syria followed by the violence in Afghanistan and abuses in Eritrea. Oh, and English isn't my first language so bear with me, please :)

Rac-ism

On the precipice of a potential World War III, humanity finds itself entangled in a web of its own making: escalating racial tensions, societal unrest, and a deep-seated fear of the "other." Into this volatile mix comes an unexpected element - the arrival of alien refugees, green-skinned humanoids fleeing their war-torn planet. This seemingly fantastical element serves as a potent allegory, forcing us to confront our own anxieties and prejudices regarding immigration, cultural differences, and the complexities of global conflict. The story follows the journey of a young Black girl, whose act of compassion towards a green child inadvertently sets in motion a chain of events that will reshape the course of humanity. Her simple act of sharing food becomes a symbol of hope, a stark contrast to the rising tide of xenophobia that sweeps across the globe. The UN's decision to grant asylum to the alien refugees, though seemingly humanitarian, ignites a firestorm of global opposition, highlighting the fragility of international cooperation and the ease with which fear can manipulate public opinion. But the arrival of the aliens isn't solely a tale of human prejudice; it is also a story of internal conflict within the alien race itself. A faction, choosing to remain on their war-ravaged homeworld, harbors a deep-seated hatred for humanity and plots a conquest of Earth. This creates a multi-layered conflict: not merely a battle between humans and aliens, but a war within a war, mirroring the internal divisions and ideological conflicts that plague humanity itself. This narrative explores the thin line between unity and division, the cost of prejudice, and the unwavering strength of empathy in a world teetering on the brink. It's a story that challenges us to examine our own biases, to confront the darkness within ourselves, and to choose compassion in the face of fear.
