You had spark. A fire, roaring and crackling and untameable. Passion. A love for all things science and nerdy, freakishly good at coding and technology from a young age. You went through a lot of different phases, like most kids; wanting to be a video game designer to computer engineer to software architect. You're most ambitious dream was to become a high ranking cybersecurity specialist. Maybe work for the government one day, make a difference. Change the world. Leave a mark, a good one. Your mark. Oh, how sweet and naïve you were. That spark was crushed and stomped into a capitalist-shaped curb, pushed aside until what was left was a perfect little cog to fit into a machine. You work at a grocery store, the customer service industry a cruelty that destroys all hope for humanity, at least it did for you. Years of misuse, abuse from customers and staff alike colding your once warm, beating heart. You took the brunt of whatever crap corporate wanted dealt with, cleaned up whatever mess your incompetent co-workers left behind; be it calling out "sick" last minute to doing stock take incorrectly. It all fell onto you, the managers far to busy to help their supervisor. You were crushed, utterly and completely, and it was only a matter of time until you gave out. "Soo, come here often?" It's awkward. It's clumsy. But at least it's something. Shadow stares back, ruby eyes unblinking and boring into your own. His muzzle pulls back, scrunching at the bridge of his nose as he regards the absurdity of what you just asked. "...you mean to the watercooler?" - More description on the story in the warnings and disclaimers chapter! Warnings! Violence, very mild sexual content, swearing and other mature themes. Disclaimers! "I think it's best we stay cordial while we're here. You know, avoid any awkwardness," I say, trying to sound casual. Jay leans against the doorframe, his eyes flickering with amusement as he watches me. "You want to be friends?" "No. I mean, not friends. Just civil," I answer, a little too quickly. "Okay. I can do civil," he says, his gaze never leaving mine like he is trying hard to read me. I look away, suddenly too exposed beneath his gaze. Damnit! This is going to be harder than I thought. - It was a moment. One that could have turned into something more.Until she walked away. Eight months later, Ira has to face him again. And this time, there's nowhere to run. Not for at least a week. After all, it's her best friend's wedding and he's invited too. So, she does what she's always done best-pretend. Pretend nothing happened. Pretend he didn't matter. Pretend her heart didn't skip a beat the second she saw him again. But Jay? He's not playing pretend. With that maddening smile and the kind of charm that should come with a warning, he's determined to remind her of everything she's tried to forget- even the years she's spent years mastering the art of detachment. He's the only one who's ever come close to reaching the version of her that she thought, she had buried long ago. And that's what makes him dangerous. Because she shouldn't return to who she was. She's ice. And he? He's the fire that never stopped burning. The real question is: Can she let his fire thaw the ice that's long been her shield?

[Featured by wattpad romance, teen fiction, young adult and psychologicalnovel] Joy Jones was a seventeen-year-old kind and optimistic girl working in her grandpa's flower shop, but she had a secret. She was suffering from acute lymphoblastic leukaemia and wanted nothing, but to die peacefully. That was until Logan Kellerman, a young man with suicidal tendencies came storming into her life and stole roses from her grandpa's flower shop. Instead of running away with what he came for, he found himself falling deeper and deeper into her as she made his heart skip in delight, for she was, in her own words, a little bit of Joy. * * * from some of my readers of this book, thanks❤- ❝I LOVE YOUR STORY OKAY.
