More than thirty years ago a flesh eating virus spread throughout the world and more than half the population turned into Infected entities roaming the world for something to eat, but in the growing disaster, the world evolved and communities and cities emerged. Now Maia finds herself transferred from the safety of her city to a community that keeps Infected away from the cities to help them with her medical knowledge.

Here Maia meets Search Team #7, conformed by five young adults that have been trained since childhood to survive the Infected and to keep their community safe; and while trying to adjust to the harsh ways of the Twins, Minka's strict rules when out on the field, Peter's strange stories about the Night Owls and her growing feelings for Sam, Maia has to survive out the comforts of her city and out in the real world.

A world where just a scratch from an Infected could turn you into a flesh eating entity.
