Ever since Dean Winchester came out as gay to his friend, Meg, and she told everyone, people have constantly tormented him. No one had ever really bothered him before, aside from the occaisonal 'loser' and 'freak', but everyone got that, didn't they? Dean's life completely turned around when Castiel Novak began his junior year at Scurmount High. Rumors spread about Cas. "I heard he just got out of prison for attempted murder," "My friend went to his old school! She told me he was expelled, and thats why he was switched." Dean was unaware of which rumors were true, and which weren't but he had decided to try and stay away from this boy with an uncovered past, but somehow, he gets sucked in.

Dean couldn't help but feel an ache in his chest every time he sees him, but he had no clue why. Castiel Novak only had two years of school left before he could finally escape the hell that is Sioux Falls High School. Every since he moved here he's had a hard time making friends. After all, being gay wasn't a good thing to be at his school. He would constantly get mentally and emotionally abused by his classmates. Two more years, he kept telling himself, and then he would graduate and get a degree in fine arts. When the new English teacher, Mr. Winchester, shows up Castiel immediately takes interest. Maybe, it was his gorgeous Emerald green eyes, or his ashy blonde hair that was always spiked up perfectly. Whatever it was, Castiel knew he would like this new teacher. Their Dad was almost always gone and if he was there, there was yelling and a lot of getting punched. In school Dean acted the bad boy but when he was alone his world broke together. He was soft and hurt. Even though he was Sam's protector. Never would he ever let anything happen to Sammy. He took blame for stuff Sammy did just to keep him safe. Safe from their Dad.
