He just stood there. Looking at me. The way I had reacted had put him in a state of shock. "I... Life is full of surprises! Especially in high school, where love can come from unexpected places... This is my story (well, part of it, anyway). It's a story about growing up in a small town, about the friends I made and the friends I lost, and the events (both legal and illegal) that shaped me into the person I am today. This is a true story; naturally, some parts have been embellished, had names altered to protect the "innocent," and some incidents have otherwise been fabricated entirely. Also, I confess that I may have misremembered some of it.

I felt nothing after the accident. It wasn't mentioned in the house. But I know what happened, people whispered when I passed, kids steered clear of me and it was all over the old newspapers. Mum and Dad acts like everything's normal, that I'm a normal teenage girl, thinking like one. But I've got a problem and they know it. I have no capability with love or even anything close to that.
