During the time of World War London parents sent their children to the countryside.
Allen Walker is a young boy who is sent to live with his uncle Neah in the country while his father Mana Walker sees to things back home.
Allen doesn't know his uncle that well and when he arrives he is surprised to find others staying with his uncle who escaped the cities. Allen meets a couple of Chinese travelers, a Japanese swordsman, a librarian, and a traveling artist.
