Lena Lee has spent her entire life living up to impossible expectations. Between excelling in school, helping at her family's bakery, and juggling extracurriculars, she's always been the perfect daughter. But behind the carefully crafted image, she's suffocating under the weight of responsibility. In her teenage years, rebellion became her only escape-late nights, reckless choices, and secrets she could never tell her parents. But eventually, she found her way back, rebuilding trust and securing the future they always wanted for her. Then Caleb Tate walks into her life-a man with a past that should have sent her running. Hardened by betrayal, haunted by the ghosts of his upbringing, Caleb is no stranger to survival. He's spent years entangled in a dangerous world, fighting to break free, but escape comes at a cost. When his path collides with Lena's, neither of them expect the kind of connection that forms between them. What starts as an unlikely alliance soon turns into something more, something real. But the past doesn't let go so easily. As secrets unravel and old enemies resurface, Lena and Caleb are forced into a fight they never saw coming. Together, they must take down the very forces that have controlled Caleb's life for years-all while holding onto the fragile future they're building. In a world where trust is dangerous and love is a risk, *Runaway Hearts* is a story of two people who refuse to be defined by their pasts. It's about sacrifice, second chances, and finding home in the most unexpected places. Because sometimes, the only way to truly be free... is to stop running.

Grey Hayden didn't fit into any specific category. She was girly, geeky, sporty, rebellious, studious, and... Average. She was just Grey. The things that made her special were things that'd go unnoticed by the naked eye. You'd have to really see her in order to see who she was. Luckily, she had four people who'd done just that. Four friends that were more like siblings. Except for one. Jackson was always a friend, a good one, but there were subconscious feelings that just didn't allow for him to be referred to as a brother. They were never acted upon, for the simple reason that he was out of her league. He was a beautiful bad boy, and she was a simple, tolerable girl. But, he didn't see a simple girl. He saw so much more. When the feelings finally make their way out into the open, Grey's opportunity to run, like she always wanted, was too tempting to pass up. So, they ran. Or, drove, really. They packed a few things and drove. They drove across the country to the Big Apple, where they try to establish a place to call home.
