Alyssa Stratson is an outcast with plain looks and a disability-- she's deaf. With only one true friend and a nerdy persona, she has all but given up on finding love.

Josh Allen is what you would call a "bad boy." Getting detention and playing hookie are what he's best at, but when an unforeseeable accident, leaves him without sight, he is more determined than ever to keep his reputation.

They say opposites attract, but Alyssa's and Josh's disabilities leave them barely able to open up their hearts with one another.

What would happen when this nerdy deaf girl meets the kick ass blind boy ?

Will they be able to overcome their differences, or let that be the barrier between them?

{I will try to improve this novel's summary later, when I get a better one. Please let me know if its better than the earlier one or not. Thanks, Enjoy reading! }

Saving Alyssa by AnikaQ
12 parts Complete
No one sees her. No one knows her. Alyssa Williams is the girl who fades into the background, the one who slips through the hallways unnoticed. She wears her black hoodie like a shield, her face hidden in the shadows, always on the edge of the crowd. She doesn't want to be seen. She doesn't want to be known. Because if anyone were to truly look, they'd see the fear in her eyes, the bruises that don't heal, and the story she's terrified of telling. Her life is a quiet war she fights every day-against her father's fists, against the memories that threaten to consume her, and against the world that's turned its back on her. She's learned to survive in the silence, to hide from the chaos that swirls around her. But when she decides she's had enough, and tries to run away from the nightmare that is her home, she finds herself crashing headfirst into something-or rather, someone-who might be even more dangerous than what she's running from. Dylan Scott. The bad boy. The bully. The one everyone stays away from. His presence is a storm, and his reputation is as dark as the night. He has a group of friends who don't question his actions, a life filled with secrets, and a world where no one dares to get too close. Everyone warns Alyssa about him, but she's already seen the worst the world has to offer. So when their paths collide, she's not sure what to expect. Will Dylan help her escape the hellhole she calls home-or will he drag her back into it? The truth is, Dylan Scott is hiding as much as Alyssa. He's trapped in his own battle, with his own demons, and just like her, he's been running from something for far too long. But when his and Alyssa's lives intersect, everything begins to unravel. The walls they've built around themselves begin to crack, and neither of them can ignore the pull between them. The question is: will they be able to save each other, or will they destroy each other in the process?

"Did you know Drama lowers I.Q? Intelligent people keep smaller social circles." I tell him, throwing another grape in the air and catching it in my mouth. "If that's true, then you and I should be geniuses." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Carrie Edwards is an enigma. Mysterious, beautiful, good taste in fashion and undeniably shy. She's the ultimate introvert, but she cannot be classified as a good girl. Then again, she's not exactly a rebel. Her favorite color is purple and in 8th grade, she threw up on the blind kid in the middle of a presentation on Dolphins. That's about all anybody knows about her. Hidden beneath a blanket of PTSD and social anxiety is the quirky, insensible, headstrong and sarcastic girl who lives life with an internal monologue of comebacks she doesn't actually say. Alec Kendrick, smoldering hot, very typical stereotyped bad boy. No, he's not rich with absent parents, nor is he poor and struggling to provide for his family. He has two brothers and a baby sister, who he gets a smite bit overprotective over. Alec likes his motorbikes, leather jackets and the occasional back talk to the teachers, plus picking a couple of fights and some drinking. Admittedly, so he's not a total angel either. These two very different people would probably have not even crossed paths if it wasn't for a mixed up folder, a weekend lost in the woods, a stolen copy of an embarrassing tape, crazy siblings, dancing best friends and of course, some sparks. Who knows what happens next?! ~-~ Mancheston Series, Book Two. CAN BE READ SEPARATELY Not edited, working on it. Some spelling and grammar errors. P.S I DO NOT own the cover picture. After an accident in eighth grade, Louisa Kelley was blind. Every day was a struggle for her as she tried to adjust to life both at school and at home, but life got easier with practice. As soon as Louisa entered high school, things had changed for the worse. The students around her bullied her because she was different, harassing her, stealing her things, and talking about her behind her back, making an already difficult life so much harder. Now in her junior year of high school, Louisa is broken and without anyone to call a friend. She eventually decides to remove herself from the bullies that surround her daily and be home schooled. That is, until she met Alex. Alex Mirren was born deaf, but when he was six years old, he received a cochlea implant that allowed him to hear. Even after the ten years of speech therapy where he had to teach himself how to hear, Alex prefers to stay in the silence and only communicates with the world when necessary. Life seemed dull to him as he was stuck in between two worlds of silence and noise, not knowing his purpose or place in society. That is, until he saw a girl with a walking stick in the hallways. Louisa and Alex weren't made for each other. Although the very presence of each other gives them new hope and strength, things are difficult as Louisa thrives by using her hearing, while Alex shies away from sound and uses sight. Without being able to communicate easily, they must learn to overcome the barrier of the silence between them, which is easier said than done. But aren't the struggles worth it to be with that one person that means everything?
