Ironheart

When Nova Sinclair was a child, her parents were murdered. Not while she was sleeping, or while she was in another room. They were killed right in front of her, and yet she couldn't see them. That horrible day ended with a mysterious savior who already knew her name, and who offered her a place to go.

The place she was taken was not an orphanage or a foster home, however. It was the headquarters of an underground society called the Organization, sworn to revenge against some force unknown to their recruits. In the thirteen years since the murder, Nova has become a carefully-honed killing machine, deadly as the weapons that she holds; a perfect soldier of vengeance. And in those thirteen years, one thing has been drilled into her head; never ask questions. So she doesn't.

But when a strange man more prodigious with his mind and blades than even herself catches her off guard one night and delivers a mysterious message, Nova's curiosity awakens. And as she embarks on a quest to figure out what the message means, everything she has seen as solid for so many years, both inside herself and out, comes crashing down around her.

And her iron heart begins to melt.
