On the east side of the border there is civilization, there is order, there is a patriarchal society lead by the rich and the educated.
On the west side of the border there is chaos, there is war, there is a unruly system of surviving that runs on one principle. Kill or be killed.

On the east side the world is broken down by three sections, the rich, the poor and the criminals.
On the west side the world is broken down by who has the largest army, and who can control everyone the best.

Michael is the prince on the Western side of the border, known as the Badlands. His father rules that world. His father is the King of the Exiguous people. Michael is the heir to the throne.
Emerson is the only daughter of the Prime Minister on the Eastern side of the border, known as Autarky. Her father governs the Autarkist people, and she will one day do the same.
Stitch is a train runner. A criminal. An outcast. He is adored by the ordinary people and hated by the rich. His people, the poor, uneducated people are known as Splinters.

In this story you will learn of Stitch's life as a train runner, as a Splinter and of how he was kidnapped by the Exiguous people and taken to the Badlands.
Nothing good ever comes from the Badlands.
