Aria Silver considers herself relatively lucky - as far as teenagers go. She goes to a good school, has good friends, is on the varsity cheerleading team, and has a family as decent as families get. She's happy and can hardly imagine anything changing. That is, until the week of tequila, the sirens of an ambulance, a new boy, and a funeral.

After realizing that life isn't all what it's made up to be sometimes, Aria is left to her own resorts to try to answer some of the worlds longest, burning questions:

In a world full of so much despair, how do we find something worth living for?

How do we keep fighting, even if we fail to see the silver linings?

Caden grabs both of Lilly's hands, pulls them close to him, and says, "Lilly, please stop saying that. It's not your fault Caleb's a jerk who likes to fight and I can't find any better of a friend than you. Do you know why?" Lilly shakes her head in confusion and Caden continues, "Because Lilly, the truth is...you are the greatest friend I have ever had. I am so glad I met you and ran after you yesterday. In fact, if it wasn't for me meeting you yesterday and hanging out with you, I most likely wouldn't be here right now." Confused, Lilly asks, "Wh-what do you mean you most likely wouldn't be here? Where would you be?" Caden replies, "Gone." Lilly questions, "Gone? Caden, what do you mean gone?" ************************** Lilly's life is good, she has God, her family, friends, and cheerleading to get her through life. However, one day, things start to change.
