The King of Embers

The war is over. The old kingdoms have fallen and now the Eliphan Empire stands as a testament to human might and achievement, stretching the known world. Its influences are great, its armies unmatched. But within this new golden age, strife will rule and old hatreds will boil. Scourged by rebellion and intrigue, the Empire teeters on the brink of collapse under its own weight. And worse, a storm brews in the East.

Held as a political hostage for as long as he can remember, Jhoturah will grow to be man in the halls of the Empire. His loyalty will become unfaltering; but upon his return home, to the kingdom the Empire crushed, and now rule, he will become a king who's people need, not him, but revenge.

As once more the east falls into chaos, Jhet, a young merchant son, will lose it all upon his father's death. His future as anything more than a beggar will hang in the balance as the cogs of war begin to turn. But stumbling upon a brute named Harmon he sees hope, a chance; it is their odd relationship that will not only bring stability to their lives, but alter the course of history.
