Ava Walsh and her family are exiled from the shifter community seemingly overnight. After being driven out of the lands they've known all their lives and thrust into a rather hostile situation. Ava must help her mother to find a new place for them to call home, even if it means that they must do the unthinkable. There are reasons why other supernatural creatures are separate from the shifters; they can choose their one true form. However this is not the case with the weres...forced to change into their animal form when lunar powers are at their strongest.

Caleb Malcolm is a son of the betas in the Irving Forest werewolf community; he is both a sentry and a hunter. His life has been fairly uniform and things had been done a certain way for centuries. The laws governing his actions are soon to be tested as Ava and her family mull over their options. Twenty year old Ava has a choice to make: a forest with an active resident werewolf pack...or a human city.
