When a series of gruesome murders shake a small northern Canadian community, the police find there is little they can do. The frozen half eaten corpses reap no forensic evidence, no DNA, no fingerprints, baffling the local authorities. The only tangible clue is the large set of footprints in the snow leaving the bodies and heading deeper into the forest.

A year later, Cher Bouche, the younger sister of the first murder victim, is still looking for answers. With the help of her best friend, Rhett, the two find themselves investigating the murders. In their search for justice they learn that there is truth in the elder's stories, and secrets in the snow.
