(TW LIST DOWN BELOW) Just so y'all know, this takes place after the summer at Gravity Falls, though instead of both Dipper and Mabel going to Gravity Falls, only Mable went since Dipper wasn't allowed to. Also, the twins are a year younger when this takes place, so they are 11 going on 12 when Mabel goes to Gravity Falls and the whole Weirdmageddon thing happens. . Summer was over, and it was time to get back to school. Mabel, who just got back from their great uncles' place, is excited to show and tell her twin about all the cool stuff that happened, though she isn't suspecting to accidentally bring a certain yellow demon with her to California... After the episode "Sock Opera" where Mabel got possessed by Bill, the dream demon was able to teleport to her mind right before being destroyed, leaving him very weak but also very much alive. Also the barrier around Gravity Falls doesn't quite effect Bill anymore since he is now kinda bound to Mabel's mind and wherever she is, he is too. Darker Perspective
Set after the events of "Not What He Seems." "Grunkle Stan, I trust you." The words struck hard in Dipper's heart and he knows that something has changed between him and Mabel after that day. Hurt and alone, Dipper gets a visit from Bill in his dreams. The demon offers him an offer that he has trouble refusing: magic. And so Dipper begins to learn the true secrets of magic with the help of Bill, someone who once was an enemy to him.
