Anna Young, age 10 moves from her old house to a new neighborhood where she is ignored and feels alone in the world. Until Sophie comes with a guiding hand. (It's such a short story I honestly just don't want to give to much away)
I wrote this as a two page "horror" story for school and I liked how it turned out. There are a few loose ends so I might make it into a full story and fix those.

Maria can't explain what she is or what she's done. After all, it shouldn't be possible for a human to conjur fire from nothing but pure will, but that hasn't stopped her before. She can't remember how she ends up bloodied, beaten half to death on a deserted doorstep in the middle of the night, but she can remember him, bringing her in. He's a little reserved but she doesn't mind, especially as they have something in common: neither one is supposed to exist outside of nightmares and folklore. Few people know Maria exists.
