Her mother started drinking and it was very rare to catch her sober. She became mean and abusive. No matter how much Hope tried to please her. 

Hopes best friend Nikko is the only one who knows about her mom. He's her safe haven. They have been best friends since the day they met and will continue to be best friends. Or will they?
