Parker Young.

There were so many way to describe her. She was a beautiful girl with a sense of adventure. She was a breath of fresh air. She had a smile that could light up an entire room, and a laugh that could make anyone's day. There was something about Parker that made you just want to be around her. It's no wonder why her best friend, Reece Bradshaw, found her so addicting. The two were inseparable until Reece left town without a word. Two years later, he's returned and he quickly realizes that things changed drastically in the time he was away. Parker quickly realizes that there is a thin line between love and hate, and that there may not be enough stars in the sky to count in order for things to be okay.

Reece Bradshaw.

He was the lovable golden boy of East High School. The girls adored him, but he only had eyes for one. The firecracker he called his best friend, Parker Young. When he returns after a two year hiatus, he realizes that her trust is going to be a lot harder to earn than he thought it would be. She had built up impenetrable walls while he was away, and he will do anything to knock those down and remind Parker just how loved she is, and that she doesn't only have to count the stars, but she can count on him.

She looks up at me, taking a step forward and smiling slightly, "How can I ever get hurt when I have you here to protect me?" "But you could have gotten hurt," I murmur softly, hanging my head and feeling my shoulders drop, the tension seeping from my body. "No. Stop," She cuts me off sternly but tenderly, "Don't talk like that, Reece. I'm okay, you're okay, we're okay," She speaks softly, reaching her hand up to gently brush her thumb over my cheek, just under the cut that's there. "We're okay," I repeat, taking a small step closer to her. She nods with a small smile, moving her hand down from my cheek and instead placing the palm of her hand on my chest, right over my heart. I know she can feel how fast my heart is beating. I just don't know why it's doing that. ~ Reece Carter is the bad boy of Northwood High. He smokes and he fights. Avery wrapped an arm around my waist to catch me before I could get out the door. He pushed me up against the door, trapping me between his body and the door. "What's wrong?" I asked innocently. His face hovered over mine, much closer than I was used to. His gaze didn't leave mine as he spoke. "It would have been different if I had told him from the start. You wanted me to lie for you. You started this. If we tell him what really happened, he would be pissed at me for lying to him." "Stormie, you got a phone call!" Mason yelled up the stairs. The closeness between Avery and me started to make my legs feel like Jell-O, and I couldn't make sense of it. Our breathing became heavier. His eyes trapped mine. "Answer him," Avery murmured. "Uh," I stammered. I cleared my throat. "Be down in a minute!" My voice came out higher than usual. My gaze still couldn't escape Avery's. My heart raced wildly as his chest rose and fell against mine. Avery's gaze flickered to my lips. What's happening? My gaze fell to his mouth, which was moving closer to mine. Stormie West is brave, kind, and young. She has a lot to learn about love, trust, lust, and heartbreak. Stormie's older brother, Mason, is brave, cocky, and a bit of an asshole.
