"I could hear them screaming. The neighbourhood. Just screaming, running, falling. But amoung all of it I could hear constant pinging. Like when you pluck a string on a guitar or a single hair when playing with it. Over it all. The bells rung. Little did I know it was a knell."

In the year 2190 humans have no conscience or mind. They are controlled and compelled to do things they'd never think of doing if they had their minds. Or a choice.
